Glenn's biography

Glenn's background has always been in the gardening industry. On leaving school he did a 1st Diploma in Horticulture at Myerscough College, then went on to do the National Diploma in Landscape Practice. Wanting to specialise in Landscape Architecture, he did his BA(Hons) at Leeds Metropolitan University. On leaving full time education he became the Manager of Webbs Garden Centre in Kendal, Cumbria. During his time there he set up a landscape company within the garden centre, which maintained, designed and built gardens in the Lake District.

From Kendal he moved down to Berkshire, where he worked as a Landscape Officer for The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, managing the landscape design and acting as consultant to the planning department for all landscape related issues. After 3 years at Windsor and Maidenhead, Glenn went back into the private sector, managing large contracts from the landscape maintenance for all Thames Water sites, managing the landscape contracts for all new-build Tesco stores and latterly, running a number of prestigious contracts in and around London as the maintenance director for Landform Maintenance: Glenn had full-time teams in St Katherine’s Dock, The Abudabi royal family's London residences and a number of other high profile clients' homes.

Paul's Biography

From an early age, Paul has been a successful Dressage rider and horse trainer. He has trained horses all the way up to Intermediare II and run very successful training livery yards and show centres. While running Addington Manor he helped develop it into one of the country's premier show centres. Always been a keen gardener, Paul managed to develop his livery yards into places of beauty as well as equestrian achievement. His meticulous attention to detail is now being put to great use as he manages the growing of bedding plants at the nursery.

In April 2009 Glenn and Paul managed to secure the purchase of Fairview Nursery in Birdwood, Churcham, Gloucestershire. They have since changed the name to ‘The Fairview Gardener’ and are working on developing the site into a destination centre for all gardeners' needs, using Glenn's background in landscape design to make the centre an inspirational place to visit. They will still grow all their bedding plants on site and make up their fabulous hanging baskets to order, but have added a greater range of hardy nursery with the following departments: Herbaceous Perennials, Shrubs, Trees, Alpines, Soft and Top Fruit, Herbs, Roses, Climbers, Aquatic  Plants, Shade Loving Plants, House Plants and Seasonal Plants. In addition to the Hardy nursery, the centre will have a huge range of garden sundries including, fertilisers, persticides, a large range of composts, garden furniture, stone ornaments, a vast range of outdoor pots and terracotta, seeds and a fabulous range of 'grow-your-own' products.
